SUMS legislation (R156) will be mandatory from July 2026

From 6 July 2026, new European legislation will come into force for all newly registered vehicles.

What exactly is changing?

• The number of settings that we, as a garage, can carry out immediately on your WABCO modulator will be limited.
• Certain settings will only be possible after approval by the manufacturer, STAS.

Please therefore bear in mind that at ATRAC, we will no longer be able to carry out certain adjustments to the programming of your WABCO modulator immediately.

For any adjustment that affects your vehicle’s type approval, we must first obtain approval from the manufacturer. The latest version of the vehicle’s settings must be stored in a database so that the relevant authorities can always access this information.
